A Home Care Package is a government subsidised package of services designed to meet your needs to help keep you safe, independent and living at home for as long as possible. Four package levels (basic to high level) are available Australia-wide.
What are the benefits of a Home Care Package?
A Home Care Package can help you retain your independence where you feel comfortable and safe – at home. A HCP can provide relief, help avoid inactivity and isolation and get things done that aren’t safe for you to do anymore. Importantly, it can slow down the need for even greater support, like a Retirement Home.
What types of services are included in a Home Care Package?
Depending on your needs, a range of supports can be provided as part of a Home Care Package, including cleaning & washing, meal preparation, gardening, telehealth, therapies & allied health, personal care, shopping, transport, home modifications and more. Who pays for a Home Care Package?
Home Care Package funding is a subsidy from the Australian government. You can be asked to contribute a basic daily fee and an income-tested fee, depending on your personal circumstances. LiveBetter provides a budget and monthly statement.

Commonwealth Home Support Program
What is the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)?
Funded by the Australian government, the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) provides a range of entry-level aged care services to assist older people to keep living independently at home and in their community. If you are generally able to manage but need some help with daily tasks to continue living at home, CHSP may be right for you. These services are also suitable for people who have had a setback and need short term support.
Who can access the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)?
People aged over 65 (50 years and over for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
What types of services does the CHSP include?
Depending on your needs, you may be eligible to receive domestic assistance (e.g. cleaning, vacuuming, laundry), personal care (e.g. showering, grooming), respite, home modifications and more.
How do I access Commonwealth Home Support Program services?
You need to have approval from ‘My Aged Care’ before receiving services. Call your local Aged Care Consultant today on 1800 580 580 and we can guide you through the ‘My Aged Care’ assessment process.
Veterans' Home Care
What is Veterans’ Home Care?
If you are the holder of a Gold or White DVA Health Card and live at home, LiveBetter's Veterans’ Home Care service may be able to provide a range of basic supports to enable you to keep your independence.
Support could include things like personal care, respite or domestic assistance including cleaning, washing or ironing.
Veterans’ Home Care is available in the Central West region of NSW.
What does Veterans’ Home Care cost?
Customers are required to contribute a fee towards the cost of care they receive. The level of the fee is determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs in conjunction with you.
Self-funded Home Care Services
What are Self-funded Home Care Services?
If you do not qualify for government-subsidised services, you can still access Home Care Services by purchasing the services that suit your needs. You have complete freedom to choose the supports you require.

Self-funded Home Care Services are available across most of regional New South Wales and Central Queensland. Services are available from all LiveBetter locations.
