How does Short Term Accommodation & respite work?
At LiveBetter, we tailor supports and activities to suit your needs and requirements. You might have a short stay with other people of a similar age, or by yourself. Your stay could be at one of our Short Term Accommodation properties or a rented property that suits your needs.
Having a short time away every now and then can also help to maintain your current living situation by giving your family and carers a break from the caring role, while having peace of mind that we’re providing the support you need.
Like a home away from home
We want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your short breaks away from home. So we work with you on a plan that covers your specific needs to make sure you’re fully supported during your stay.
If you’re going to be in a place with other people, we’ll make sure you’re all compatible before your stay.
We’ll take the time to build an ongoing relationship with you to make sure you and your family or usual carers feel supported and comfortable using our Short Term Accommodation throughout the year.
It’s also about having fun!
Based on your interests and goals, it’s up to you what activities you do while you’re away from your usual home. It could be learning how to make your favourite dish, going out for a meal, playing sport or going to the movies.
You can access Short Term Accommodation for up to 28 days a year. It’s flexible, depending on what you’d like to. For example, you might like to take a break one weekend each month or have a longer stay away of up to 14 days at a time.
