We’re thrilled to announce our new Tamworth premises was officially opened today by LiveBetter President, Dr Peter Mangles and Mayor of Tamworth, Councillor Russell Webb.
The event heralds our expansion into Hunter New England and a partnership with Hunter New England LHD which will see LiveBetter deliver the Out of Hospital Care (OHC) program to vulnerable community members.
The expansion into Hunter New England is an exciting development for LiveBetter, and we were delighted to share the opening of our Tamworth premises with many representatives from the local community.
The Out of Hospital Care (OHC) program addresses the critical issues of bed block in our hospitals by offering time-limited, in-home support to vulnerable people at risk of admission or readmission, including those waiting to access NDIS support, and people at end-of-life who wish to palliate at home.
Importantly, the purpose of these supports is not just about freeing up hospital beds. The provision of high-quality in-home support will ensure vulnerable community members can remain safe and well in their own homes and communities and continue to live the life they choose.
LiveBetter is not new to out-of-hospital care, having provided these services in regional communities for over 17 years.
As a partner of choice for many NSW regional LHDs, LiveBetter’s arrival in Tamworth is great news for both the Hunter New England LHD and the local community. LiveBetter’s unique standing as a regionally based provider who knows and understands regional communities is well known.
According to LiveBetter President and Chairman, Dr Peter Mangles, LiveBetter are considered experts in the field of post-hospital care and support.
“By partnering with the Hunter New England LHD, LiveBetter aims to ensure our services are integrated into the fabric of the community, improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable individuals and contributing to the long-term resilience and prosperity of the region,” said Dr Mangles.
General Manager for Integrated Care, Networks & Partnerships, Louise Lazic, says the Hunter New England LHD is pleased to partner with LiveBetter to deliver these essential services.
“Hunter New England Local Health District is pleased to support LiveBetter in their provision of in-home care services to patients transitioning from our facilities.
“The services LiveBetter provide include activities of daily living like showering, meal preparation and transport, contributing to enhanced patient outcomes and reduced risk of readmission,” said Ms Lazic.
At LiveBetter we’re delighted to have opened our doors in Tamworth. We look forward to expanding our service offering in the region, serving the communities of Hunter New England, and continuing to ensure regional people have access to the services they need to live safely and well in their homes and communities, now and into the future.
