LiveBetter Broken Hill Celebrates the NSW Seniors Festival
The largest senior’s festival in the Southern Hemisphere is coming to Broken Hill and LiveBetter is ready to celebrate with seniors, inviting the community to see what is on offer at the Senior Lounge.
“This year’s theme is ‘Reconnect’, and after months of isolation and social distancing, it’s time to come together and reconnect in person with activities that are both fun and keep your mind and body active,” says Program Coordinator Far West, Judy Parr.
“With a diverse range of experiences on offer at the Senior Lounge, the open day will inspire seniors to be active, socialise, and share their skills and wisdom, all while connecting with their peers.”
The Senior Lounge will hold the open day on Wednesday 30 March 2022 showcasing the various activities they run including:
- Knitting
- Crafts
- Diamond art
- Social activities
“We are passionate about providing meaningful social connections and life-long learning for our seniors,” continues Ms Parr. “Between the hours of 10 am and 12 pm the doors will be open to the public to come and try the various activities we host.
“The Senior Lounge is a popular place for seniors to come together and interact. We host lunches and afternoon teas as well as other activities throughout the year and all to provide seniors the opportunity to… LiveBetter!
“We’d also like the seniors of Broken Hill to tell us what events and activities they’d like us to host. Maybe it’s a tech tutorial to help them reconnect with friends and family? We’re open to all ideas!”
Delicious nibbles will be provided on the day.
