In a bid to reduce the high levels of isolation and loneliness experienced by many regional carers, the Commonwealth Government Carer Gateway program, provided by LiveBetter, is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Carers’ BIG Lunch series.
Set to roll out across the NSW Central West, Orana, and Murrumbidgee regions, these special events are all about giving unpaid carers a well-deserved break — a chance to hit pause on their caring responsibilities, enjoy a delicious lunch, and connect with others who understand the ups and downs of the caring journey.
Each event will be hosted by former ABC newsreader Juanita Phillips and feature a keynote speaker who will share their personal story.
On arrival, every carer will be greeted with a thoughtful gift. They’ll then be nourished by a two-course sit-down meal, warmed by good conversation, inspired by the special guest speaker, and entranced by a live musical performance.
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Carer Gateway Program, including a live Q&A session with the LiveBetter team.
The team from Carer Gateway hope that carers will walk away from these events not only feeling inspired and uplifted but having made some meaningful connections with other carers that will prove ongoing.
Above all, it is hoped that every carer walks away knowing that they too are cared for, and that support is available through Carer Gateway.
This is a FREE, alcohol-free event for unpaid carers and a plus one aged over 18.
