Families are a child’s first and most important teachers
Children’s earliest and most powerful learning comes from their family. Aboriginal Families as Teachers offers families the opportunity to learn more about their child’s development and take an active role in their early education.
LiveBetter’s Early Childhood Education Manager Sally Thomas believes the program will provide Aboriginal families with the tools they need to support their child’s early learning journey.

A fun and free program
Funded by the NSW Department or Education, Aboriginal Families as Children aims to:
- Support your child’s early education
- Provide positive cultural connections
- Promote language, listening and numeracy skills, and
- Build your child’s self-esteem and confidence.
How it works
Each week families will join in weekly playgroups, meet with other families, learn about your child’s development, and connect with services and activities in your community.
