LiveBetter is passionate about Regional Australia. Like the communities we work with, we are proud to call regional NSW and QLD home. From our small beginning over 30 years ago, we have worked hard to continue to provide valuable assistance to every community and service provider we work with.

Our proudest achievement is our ability to retain the importance of “local” in all of our communities as we grow. As a homegrown, experienced, regional Not for Profit, LiveBetter has the connections, passion and obligation to support local communities to remain viable for future generations. Through our community engagement process we empower local organisations, families and individuals to develop local strengths, increase funding opportunities, support local providers, as well as investing in local jobs, products and services. In recent times, we have seen an avalanche of metropolitan based, for profit companies entering our local communities to deliver community services remotely. It is more important now than ever before to bolster our rural, regional and remote communities to remain local and in control of how their services are delivered.

Empowering local communities, building on their unique strengths and walking beside them is fundamental to LiveBetter’s philosophy as an organisation. As the nation’s population ages and the Government revenue base continues to shrink, we believe the voice of rural, regional and remote Australia must to be louder than ever before to ensure the viability of our communities. Rural, regional and remote Australia is fundamental to our nation’s cultural identity and LiveBetter is working hard to protect and support the iconic localness of country Australia.

Through our successful relationships with service providers across rural, regional and remote NSW, and experience in securing funding, we have developed a vast suite of programs and services, as well as delivering existing ones, to suit the needs of each community.

CCSP/CHSP Development Officer

Does your organisation provide Commonwealth Home Support Programs (CHSP) or Community Care Support Programs (CCSP) (formerly known as HACC services), in the Orana Far West? Based in Nyngan, we have a dedicated staff member who provides support to all Orana Far West service providers.

Covering 13 Local Government Areas, this service assists regional and remote service providers to keep up to date with the latest sector developments, legislative and regulatory changes and available training opportunities etc.

The Commonwealth Home Support Program is the Federal community care program for people over 65 (50 for Indigenous Australians), formerly known as the Home and Community Care (HACC) program.

These providers deliver basic, long-term services for frail older people [CHSP], younger people with disabilities [CCSP] and the carers of both of these groups, so they can live safely and appropriately in the community and in their own homes, rather than institutions, like nursing homes or hostels.
